How to search for products using Data Explorer on CopPhil
Data Explorer allows you to find and download Earth observation products. In this article, we will cover the search panel which allows you to get products based on various criteria.
Prerequisites
No. 1 Access to Data Explorer
Login to Data Explorer with this link: https://explore.infra.copphil.philsa.gov.ph/search
You don’t need to be logged in to search for products.
However, you need to be logged in if you want to be able to download products.
If needed, refer to How to register and login to Data Explorer on CopPhil cloud
No. 2 Overview of available satellite instrumentation and capabilities
This is only required for some of the types of searches explained in this article.
Page EO Data Collection shows information about the following satellites:
Sentinel-1, Sentinel-2, Sentinel-3, Sentinel-5p and Sentinel-6.
For each, shown are the instruments available, type of instrument, product type, spatial range, temporal range and type of access.
The Search form explained in this article relies on those capabilities, giving you options to simultaneously choose from one or more hardware features available on one or more satellites.

General information about search panel
Use search panel on the left of the website window to provide search criteria:

In this panel, trash can icons next to some options can be used to clear the associated values.
To start searching, fill in the values and click Search.
Product name
Text field at the top of the search panel allows you to search for products by their names.
It works in two modes: full match and partial match.
Full product name match
This mode is activated if the switch is flipped to = (equal character) and not ~ (tilde character).

Full product name match is useful if you already know product name and want to download it and/or obtain more information about it.
When you start typing in full product name mode, all other available functions are disabled and you will be searching for a product by full name only.

To proceed, enter the full name of the desired product. In this example, we will search for S2A_MSIL2A_20241017T021341_N0511_R060_T51NYH_20241017T045851.SAFE

Click Search.
You should now see the detailed information about this product.

Partial product name match
To search for products which start with a certain phrase, activate ~ (tilde character) to the right of the search text field.

Now you will be searching for products which start with the provided phrase.
As an example, let us search for products which names begin with S2A_MSIL2A_

Other search options are still available so you can use them to the fullest.
Availability

Availability options refer to whether the chosen products can be downloaded right away or not:
- Immediate
Products are available for immediate download.
- To order
Not available immediately; you need to order the products and wait until they are available.
- All data
List all products, regardless of whether they can be downloaded now or later.
Imagery types
You can choose what imagery types should be included:

Not all imagery types are available for all missions. Therefore, selecting one of these types might limit the list of missions from which you can choose. For some of the satellites, only selected parameters are available.
Refer to Prerequisite No. 2 for the full list.
For example, if you choose Optical, available missions will be limited to Sentinel-2, Sentinel-3 and Sentinel-5P. Instruments for Sentinel-3 will be limited to OLCI and SYNERGY.

If you do not select any imagery types, your results will not be limited by this criterion.
Cloud cover

You can choose what maximum cloud coverage (percentage) is acceptable for you. Once you have entered the first character of this value, the “less or equal” character should be added automatically:

Sensing dates or publication dates
Sensing date is when the data were recorded, while the publication date is when the data became available.

Drop-down menu Type of dates allows you to choose if you want to search by sensing dates or publication dates:

You enter appropriate value in text field Date range manually using your keyboard.

You can also click the calendar icon and choose them from the interactive calendar:

In this calendar:
the first day you click will be the beginning of that time range, and
the second day you click will be the end of that time range.

Mission
Choose from which mission(s) do you want to have data by checking and/or unchecking the appropriate checkboxes:

Depending on the mission, additional search criteria might be available. They appear when you:
click the checkbox next to the mission name, or
click the right arrow to the right of the mission name:

If you do not have any of these missions selected, you will not get any results.
Option Copy query
Once you have decided upon the product you want to download, you can get a link that describes the search. The link will use a well-known OData API. Here is what it might look like:
Option Reset all
Option Reset all will reset the Search panel to its default state. Usefule when starting a completely new search.
What To Do Next
Apart from using the search panel, you can also limit your results based on the provided Area of Interest (AOI). To learn more, see Area of interest as a means of limiting product search using Data Explorer on CopPhil
To initiate search, click Search. Check How to browse and download products using Data Explorer on CopPhil
